To everyone on the Call List for IATSE, Local 354, Tulsa
We have all been mostly out of work for 14 months now. The good news is that events are starting to happen in Tulsa again and we need stagehands to work on the shows.
In the coming days, everyone that has worked for us in the past will either receive a text, an email or a letter as we try to determine who can and can not work as a stagehand in the future.
If you get a text from an unrecognized phone number, but it reads
Hello from IATSE TULSA Local 354: Your Stagehands Union.
Know that it really is us trying to contact you. And we need everyone interested in working to reply and let us know Yes.
Once we know you can still work, we will mail you a Personnel Data Form to fill out. This will give us the best phone number to call you and the best address to mail your checks.
As you know, ALL work is offered by phone call or text, so we must have your current, correct number. And since all payment is mailed, we must have a current, correct address for you.
One change from the previous form is an increase in the referral fee we will be charging. On the previous form, you authorized our fee of 4% of your gross wages. It has been 4% for a great many years but can longer meet our needs. By filling out the new personnel data form, you are authorizing us to withhold 5%.
Understand, that after a certain cut-off date, only those people for whom we have a signed, new personnel data form will be offered work. NO EXCEPTIONS!
You MUST fill this form out completely and sign where it is marked for your signature in order to remain on the Call List.
While we, as yet, do not have a firm cut-off date, know that at some point soon we will make the change to begin withholding 5%.
AFTER THE CUT-OFF DATE - YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO
WORK UNLESS WE HAVE THE SIGNED FORM IN HAND

union, which is comprised of thousands of professionals throughout North
America, is the labor organization that represents technicians and craftsperson's
in a myriad of occupations directly associated with the backstage segment
of the entertainment industry. While we do not represent our brothers
and sisters who appear in acting roles on-stage or in front of the camera,
you see our work in countless other ways on the stage, screen or in television.
Simply stated, the show can't go on without us!
Tulsa, you'll see our work behind the lights and backstage at the Tulsa
Performing Arts Center, the BOK Center Arena, the ORU Mabee Center as
well as other Tulsa entertainment venues. When the curtain goes up or
scenery is moved, a stagehand is there to make it happen. When the house
lights dim, one of our members may be at the controls of a lighting console
When a sound system is used, a stage technician is monitoring and controlling
the microphones and speakers. And when a spotlight picks up a performer
on the stage, in all likelihood it's a member of the IATSE or Local 354.
By and large, we do the majority of our work silently, invisibly and without
